Catalonia Puerta del Sol (formerly Catalonia Moratín) has outstanding personality and is located in the centre of Madrid, a few metres from Puerta del Sol. Built around an interior courtyard, the rooms are furnished with all the complements and services required for our clients’ satisfaction. Its unbeatable situation makes the hotel a safe bet for enjoying the wide range of cultural and commercial options on offer in the city. It also has a restaurant, foyer bar and hall. The building dates from the 18th century and the hotel is set around an interior courtyard that is typical of the period. The entire hotel is very bright and the refurbished building conserves the original entrance and main staircase. The construction is one of the first that was to be built in the area. It is listed as a historical building of the town of Madrid and has been designated as one of the City’s Artistic Heritage sites. During the refurbishment work, particular importance was placed on the entrance, the former entrance hall that was originally built to enable the entrance of horse-drawn carriages and whose original structure has been conserved.

“Great hotel. The best location in Madrid. 2 minutes walk from Sol and 3 from Plaza Mayor, near Metro station. Very friendly stuff was great help especially Loic. We booked through their site so we got an upgraded room. Recommend with all my heart.”

“Very nice hotel downtown Madrid. The hotel is located in an historic building which has been renovated for the most part but has also kept many areas in which the old building architecture comes out quite elegantly. The restaurant serves good quality food. Breakfast is very rich. We stayed there for a corporate meeting (also held in one of hotel’s meeting rooms). The meeting room per se was quite dark and not very suitable for full day meeting. The hotel rooms are cleaned and tidy and recently renovated. The location of the hotel is very central - few steps away from main attraction and good restaurants! The one thing I really did not appreciate is that the hotel has an internal court which is covered by a glass roof. Unfortunately the sealing of the roof was very poor and rain water was coming in the courtyard. I hope they will fix this soon.”
