It's a shame that you can't rate a place 0 stars because I would in this case. Reserved and bought a room months in advance and when we arrived it was cancelled. No notice. Found out when we walked in at 7pm with all our luggage. It took 2 weeks to get a refund but that's because I continued to call daily to get this resolved. Excuses after excuses with these people. That is just unacceptable. We made reservations and paid for a room and were turned away. Unfortunately, the staff bore the brunt of our frustration, and they didn't know what to do. They made little effort to appease us and said that this happens--Holiday Inn Express overbooks-- a lot. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn Express again. The next morning we went down to get breakfast before heading back out for a 4 hour drive and we were told we had to purchase a breakfast voucher to eat the breakfast at $12 per person, even for my 4 year old. Was under the assumption breakfast was complimentary as it usually is. When you pay $120 for 1 night, it would only make sense that breakfast is included and certainly not $12 a person for a few bagels and cereal when Hardees across the street is $6-7 a person. Great location, helpful front desk staff, lots of restaurant/food and gas places close by.Easy on/off from i-95.Nice lobby (clean / not dated).Pet friendly and plenty of good grass areas to walk the pooch.Not so great: Rooms were a bit nosier than we prefer (hear hallway and next door sounds which gets the pooch growling/barking ) ;Some areas of the hotel could use some touch ups (the bathroom door, stairwells).In the end, it was a good value and we'd stay here for a 1 night stay again. For Service there was a young lady at the start who was very welcoming. When I got to my room I realized I had been charged for 1 of my 2 rooms twice. I went downstairs just assuming it was an honest mistake she explained that apparently my card had originally been declined. I checked with my bank and my booking agent. Both confirmed I had already been charged. My booking agent had to get involved to get a refund on the extra charge. When I left the next night the day person who was completely different simply gave me a "oh its you, you can leave now". Extremely unprofessional, thieves and unclean. The only reason why I'm giving a star at all is that I had a good night sleep. Will most likely never give this chain a chance again which is too bad considering how much I travel Limpeza e serviço foi atroz. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch as the hotel restaurant is out of action. Odd that at the breakfast buffet you have to ask for toast? I've never seen that before in a hotel. Nonsensical seeing as the bread and muffins are out on display.Check on and out was seamless. Nada mal para uma parada de viagem de uma noite. I was very unimpressed with the level of cleanliness at this location. My husband and I aren't fussy people and we don't require much. The fact that the phones didn't work, the clocks didn't work, and the rooms were dated over all isn't even the reason for my low rating. It's the fact that the room and the hallway smelled horrible. It smelled very old and musty. We had to find a Walmart to spray the room down with Lysol to get the smell out. We realized every time the A/C kicked in, the smell was coming from there. Also, the towels were dingy and stained, there was a stain on the shower curtain, and over all it just didn't seem to be freshly or seriously cleaned. We were highly disappointed as we at the very least expected a clean and comfortable room. Luckily we didn't spend much time in the room so we didn't have to deal with it, but it made sleeping there very uncomfortable. Ms. Tracy was nice and helpful.
