“For every hotel there is the common and, if you are lucky enough, the uncommon. Let me explain. The common: the rooms are clean and priced reasonably. Breakfast is served exactly when needed and the decor is astounding! But for the uncommon: THE STAFF ARE AMAZING. Not only did they recommend which restaurants and attractions to visit, but Domingo (the greatest bell-boy of all time) personally led me to the best hot-dog restaurant I have ever been to, listed his favorite tapas from the Cerveseria Catalana (very good recommendation) and even spent his lunch break teaching my friend and I Spanish to help us make local friends. I will recommend Hotel Astoria to anyone that comes to Barcelona. Domingo and the rest of the staff of Hotel Astoria will live forever in stories I tell my children and my children’s children. I am so grateful my wife found this place and I am so grateful to the people that work so hard to make it what it is. Hotel Astoria, thank you. Domingo, I do not have enough words to express how brilliant and bright a flame you burn in this beautiful world. If you are appreciative of good, authentic, kind, knowledgeable, cultured people then stay at this hotel and ask for Domingo’s recommendation before you make any plans at all.
